The Elephant Butte Chamber of Commerce is offering big bucks to anyone who breaks the current 7-pound, 3-ounce New Mexico state-record with a smallie from their local reservoir. $10,000 to the angler who proves Elephant Butte Reservoir has the big one!

Elephant Butte Reservoir has been the recipient of Reservoir Fish Habitat Partnership funds (see the project here) and recently received more funds through the Bass Pro Shops/Beyond the Pond grant program.
