Please describe the project objective(s).

As a reservoir that has never had any lasting fish habitat work done since it was officially opened in 1977, our organization would like to enhance the habitat for sport and bait fish located within its waters. We have several nonprofit bass fishing groups, the local Trout Unlimited chapter, the American Legion veterans, and several youth groups that would like to partner with us in these endeavors. We also work with and have the endorsements of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who own the reservoir and control the water management operations, as well as the Colorado Parks and Wildlife - Trinidad Lake State Park, who manage the recreation and natural resources at the lake.

Will state fish and wildlife agency staff be directly involved in the project? How so (planning, site selection, participation in installation)? Is there an associated lake or habitat management plan that states the need for structural habitat enhancement?

Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff will definitely be involved with this project. The District Wildlife Manager, Area Aquatic Biologist, and State Park Manager will determine the best Mossback fish habitat product and location in the lake. They and their staff will also assist with the actual installation and promoting on their social media and other outlets.

List the species that the project is expected to benefit:

walleye, saugeye, rainbow trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, wipers, crappie, yellow perch, channel catfish

How do you plan to conduct outreach and advertise the project? (Examples: on-site signage, press releases, websites, message boards)

- Facebook and Instagram posts for the Friends of Fishers Peak and Trinidad Lake State Parks, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Trinidad Lake (USACE)
- Posting on kiosks at the state parks, USACE, and throughout Trinidad
- Press releases to The Chronicle-News and The World Journal, as well as follow-up photos and stories sent to them
- Press releases and interviews with local radio stations KCRT and KBKZ
- Announcement at the monthly Network Council meeting, which covers government and non-profits in southern CO and northern NM
